Burendo – People Highlights 2022

22/12/2022

As 2022 draws to a close, we thought we’d take a look back at some of our people highlights over a year that’s been full of growth, change, and achievements for Burendo!

We’re extremely proud of our people benefits here at Burendo, and the year got off to a flying start in January when we released our new and improved benefits package, available to all permanent employees from day one!

These include:

  • 25 days a/l + Bank Holidays
  • An additional day of paid leave for your birthday
  • Matched Employer Contributed Pension (5%)
  • Paid time off for life events
  • Personal development budget of £1,000
  • Flexible work environment
  • Family Friendly Benefits

Our benefits package is forever improving, what could be in store for 2023?

We welcomed lots of new faces during 2022, and in January we had our first UCD permanent hire Richard Lubomski (Practice Lead) and continued to build the practice with some other very talented hires over the course of the year. We also saw growth within our Engineering practice with six new permanent hires!

With all of this ongoing growth, we wouldn’t be running as smoothly if it wasn’t for our amazing Operational Teams. During the year, the Ops department gained more members to support the growth and facilitation of Burendo – growing by 77%!

Burendo HQ levelled up in 2022, and in April we officially moved into our brand-new office at 10 Wellington Place! Wellington Place is increasingly becoming known as the go-to tech hub in Leeds, and this was a real driver for us when it came to selecting the development as the home for our new head office. We wanted to be part of a bigger community and be in close proximity to like-minded businesses and people.

Our team member’s welfare is an integral part of life here at Burendo, and this year we released our new industry-leading family (and life in general!) friendly policies to all of our Burendoers, accessible FROM DAY ONE of joining!

This includes:

–  Six months of FULL PAY maternity and adoption leave.

–  Six weeks of FULL PAY paternity leave.

–  Policies aimed at supporting our people through pregnancy loss, menopause and domestic abuse.

–  An agile working policy that showcases our truly pragmatic approach to how we work.

2022 has been a year of enormous growth for Burendo 2022, and over the course of the year, we hired even more permanent Burendoers!! That means that our number of permanent employees by the end of 2022 had grown by 312%!
